Stadtführerin am Marienplatz München

Hello and welcome to all Munich lovers and all those who want to become one!

I would like to introduce you to our beautiful Bavarian capital in interesting and funny stories.

I have often heard the: "What do you want in Munich? There are just a lot of people and apart from the pedestrian zone, there's nothing interesting to see!"

I see it very differently: Munich has so much more to offer! Especially in and around the pedestrian zone there are many interesting things to discover... if you look closely!

And that's exactly where I want to direct your gaze and draw your attention to little secrets that that you normally pass by carelessly.

I look forward to sharing exciting stories with you along the well-known routes.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to this beautiful, vibrant city!

I offer guided tours for groups of 4 or more people.

My tours

I have designed two tours of 1.5 - 2 hours each for my city walks.

Tour Lisa starts at Stachus. There is already a lot to hear and discover there: Why is Karlsplatz called Stachus? What is hidden under the Stachus? For how long does the pedestrian zone exist?

Afterwards you will hear exciting stories along "Neuhauser Straße" and at the "Frauenkirche" (cathedral), for example about the collar heads or the goldsmith at the "Schöne Turm".

We continue with interesting stories at the "Hotel Bayerischer Hof", where we discover the Michael Jackson monument and the very successful but little-known politician Montgelas.

We continue the tour via the monument to Kurt Eisner, learn about the "Fünf Höfe" and the origins of a not entirely unknown Munich sports club. The tour ends at Marienplatz at the Marian Column.

On Tour Marie, we start at the Fish Fountain on Marienplatz. After taking a closer look at the New Town Hall, we walk to the Old Town Hall and learn why it gained negative notoriety in the 1930s.

After meeting Julia, we climb the Petersbergl, get to know the Old Peter, learn interesting facts about the Viktualienmarkt, and look for a pretzel in the Church of the Holy Spirit.

Via Burgstrasse, we reach the Old Court and from there continue to the famous Dallmayr delicatessen.

We hear about events surrounding the Bavarian State Opera, then walk around the Residenz towards the Hofgarten, where we discover the State Chancellery and the Tellus Bavarica.

Through the Hofgarten arcades, we head to Odeonsplatz, and in front of the Feldherrnhalle, we hear information about district cooling, the Hitler Putsch, and how King Ludwig II used the roof of the Residenz.

We end the tour in Drückebergergasse, where there is one last interesting monument to discover.

A potpourri of stories about people, buildings, and places in Munich's Old Town awaits you on my city tours. Of course, on both tours you'll also learn where Munich got its name, whether the Munich Child has always been a child, and what role salt plays in making Munich a "global city with heart" today.
